The Magic of Creation is Calling
A new lunar cycle begins February 17, 2026
I touched a stone in Scotland, and it changed my life. One minute I was a burned-out corporate executive feeling guilty about taking time away from the office, and the next minute the only thing I wanted to do was research the connection between nature and spirituality. The shift happened in an instant the moment I placed my hands on a very special stone at Clava Cairns in 2022.
My thirst for knowledge led me to Victoria Loorz. Her book, Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us Into the Sacred, felt like a deep truth. I remember reading it on a plane ride out to Chicago for a work event. That night at dinner I told my team that I felt like I was reading something that would significantly shift the trajectory of my life. I was right.
The Magic of Creation is Calling
A few months into my studies with Victoria through the Seminary of the Wild Earth program, I began to feel a shift I could not ignore. The corporate hustle culture I had been a part of for decades no longer fit. The unlearning and rewilding process was in full swing.
My sense of belonging to something bigger, more meaningful was profound. I began to welcome home parts of myself from the shadows that I had exiled to fit in. My internal authority was getting stronger and louder. The magic of creation was calling.
Grandmother Moon has been a spirit guide for me on this journey of rewilding to remember who I am. Her wisdom comes to me in sacred conversation. I am not an astrologer. What I am is someone who has learned to listen with all of my senses through eco-spiritual practices.
A New Lunar Cycle
A new lunar cycle begins today, February 17th, with a solar New Moon eclipse in Aquarius. A solar eclipse occurs when the Earth, Moon and Sun all align which essentially turbo charges the energies at play. The moon waxes to fullness on March 3rd like a big inhale. This moon has been named the Crow Moon in some cultures. Others call it a Worm Moon. Both signify the coming of spring and what is stirring within on a spiritual level. This lunar cycle is calling you into your soul’s purpose.
As I was researching the energies at play, I was delighted at the synchronicity that the Crow lunar cycle aligns exactly at the same time as registration opens for the fall semester of Seminary of the Wild Earth which just happens to be named for the Crow.
The Crow signifies the magic of creation. The caw of the crow reminds us of the deep call within to step into the divine beings we were created to be in all of our fullness. There is no better place to begin that journey than the soft sacred container that is Seminary of the Wild Earth. It just feels like coming home - to yourself.
Living in Alignment with the Moon
What follows is an exercise designed to help you live in alignment with the moon. We begin by looking at the messages coming through the New Moon followed by the Full Moon. Then we put them together to see what wisdom arises from deep within. Grab your journal and let’s dig in.
Here are some guiding principles with this practice:
Open yourself up to the wisdom flowing through you. It may help to offer yourself a few cleansing deep breaths to center yourself before you begin.
Remember there are no rules and you can’t make a mistake.
As with everything I offer, take what you like and leave the rest. If a prompt feels off to you, write your own.
Trust your intuition as you move through this exercise. Listen to what comes up first. No need to overthink it.
Light a candle, say a prayer, call in your guides. Do whatever would mark this time and space for reflection as sacred to you. Let’s frolic!
New Moon in Aquarius (Dolphin)
The humanitarian energies at play with this New Moon encourages us to step into our soul calling to be of service. If you have been feeling stuck, like the old ways are no longer working, this moon will help you break open. Now is the time to trust in the synchronicities and signs that present themselves to you. It’s time to really listen to the still deep voice within that knows your truth. No more waiting for “someday.”
Dreams and visions are placed in your soul for a reason. There is something within that is stirring just like the first signs for spring. This expansive moon is inviting you to go deep beneath what society says you “should” do to get in tune with what you know deep in your bones you are meant to do.
While Aquarius is symbolized by the water barer, it is actually an air sign. That combined with the freedom-seeking humanitarian energy reminded me of the dolphin. Dolphins live in the water, yet they are masters of the power of air. Curious and playful, dolphins live in pods, thrive in community, and each has a unique signature whistle that functions similarly to a human name.
Unlike humans, dolphin breath is voluntary. They choose when to breathe. When they sleep, half their brain remains awake to support their need for breath. They will assist an injured or ill pod member to help them breathe. I love that.
Take a moment to embody the curious, community oriented, humanitarian energy of the dolphin. What can you learn as you get quiet and listen to the magic of the dolphin?
Prompts to work with as you reflect on this New Moon. Choose one or try them all out. If nothing resonates, write your own.
If you could do one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
What is stirring within that you are curious to explore?
How can you be of service to others, right now in this moment in time?
Is there anything in your life you need to remove or change to step into your purpose?
Full Moon in Virgo (Crow)
This is the last Full Moon of winter just before the vernal equinox for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. This moon is an earthy moon that invites practicality mixed with the part of you that is connected to a deeper spiritual truth. This moon will help you make realistic, actionable plans to bring your soul calling to reality.
The Virgo Full Moon loves sorting through the spiritual meaning of synchronicities to find the practical truth within. Connected to Mercury, this moon invites you to notice how you talk to yourself. It is time to heal the voice of your inner critic. Tread lightly as Mercury, the planet of communication, will be in retrograde at this time.
Symbolized by the highly intelligent messenger bird, the Crow, this moon asks you to consider where you may need to make change to step into your sacred calling. Crows are watchful creatures with high emotional intelligence. They learn through direct experience, observation and social interactions. They even have funerals complete with ceremony and ritual to honor their dead.
In many cultures crows are seen as sacred beings with the ability to communicate with spirit guides, carry ancestral wisdom from the spirit realm, and tap into your inner wisdom for guidance. Crows help you discern the difference between a sacred no and a sacred yes.
Take a moment to embody the intelligent, emotionally attuned, and spiritually aligned energy of the crow. What can you learn as you get quiet and listen to the magic of the crow?
Prompts to work with for full moon reflection. Again, take what you like and leave the rest.
Where might you benefit from a bit more grounded practicality vs. where you might need a bit more nature-based spirituality in your life?
How might you heal the voice of your inner critic who wants to wait for everything to be perfect?
What messages are you sending and receiving both to yourself and to the world around you?
Is there anything you feel called to undertake to deepen your own inner wisdom and authority?
Alchemy
Now let’s put it together to work with Grandmother Moon’s magic for this lunar cycle. What do dolphin and crow have to teach you about the magic of creation? What is stirring within you as you take a moment to contemplate the alchemy of a grounded earthy full moon combined with a freedom-seeking purpose driven new moon? How can you use this wisdom to step into your own personal soul calling? Afterall, what is the point of having a gift if you don’t use it? Be well and frolic on!

I touched that exact same stone when I was in Scotland.
Granted, I touched most of the stones in those circles.
